Hannah Food Service is an independent family-owned business which has grown and developed for over 45 years. Operating out of our custom-built distribution premises with integrated cold store and chiller we offer a wide range of products including grocery, butchery, chilled fresh, frozen and non-food items.

Our stock and range of commodities which is ever expanding due to customer demand, are brought in from local, national, and international suppliers direct and are distributed by our fleet of multi-temperature vehicles.

Focusing strongly on customer service Hannah Foods has built an excellent reputation working as a key partner in the development of our customers business “a partnership built on reliability, trust and great value.”

Hannah Food Service is positioned in the heart of the food service industry servicing education, healthcare, leisure, and retail destinations daily across the UK. We collaborate with the best suppliers and organizations that promote sustainability and best practice in the supply chain with industry accreditations of Marine Stewardship Council, Red Tractor, Soil Association and Fair-Trade products. We also work with organizations that promote health and wellbeing, supplying commodities that meet CQIUN guidelines including working with schools and local authorities on the food for life programs.

History

Hannah Food Service has grown into one of the largest Northwest Independent Food Service companies and now operates as a national wholesale food distribution business. The original Family operation was founded in 1977 as R Hannah & Sons servicing “Fast Food and Chip Shops” in Merseyside and West Lancashire with a range of frozen foods and own brand sausages.

The ethos of “great customer service quality and value” ensured that the business continued to grow with expansion of our “Frozen Food Division” and the opportunity to expand into other “Food Service” markets came as the company naturally diversified into the food Wholesale, Education, Healthcare, Hotel and Leisure industries. The foundation of Hannah Food Service was further cemented by the expansion of the business and move to a £3m, purpose built custom premises with integrated cold store and chiller in 2008, enabling us to increase our stock and range across frozen, ambient, chilled, and non-food categories. Increasing demand from our customers for a “one stop shop” drove the development of partnerships with local artisan fresh producers and we now offer specialty products including fresh butchery meats, (Inc. British Red Tractor) as well as fruit and vegetables from regional growers.

Investment has continued to maintain and develop our client-driven service, with plans in the pipeline for further growth to facilitate our expansion nationally. Our strategy is to enhance our service further, investing in our people and recruiting market sector specialists in the food service industry, to add a depth of knowledge to support our customers across all hospitality and food sectors with an aim to be a “market leader” in our industry.

The Future

Development in infrastructure is ongoing with modern technology being implemented across all departments, all to enhance our customer experience focusing on “great customer service, quality and value.” Our strategy for service excellence has fueled our growth with turnover now in-excess of £42m over 2021/22. We are on a successful journey striving to increase our product and service portfolio to our ever-growing customers. ­
